Yes, it's that time of the month again...

NARS Sheer Glow foundation+BECCA Shimmering skin perfector

In the last couple of weeks I’ve been doing a little experimentation, mixing foundations and products, just for fun and I stumbled on this amazing combination: one pump of my favorite foundation ever, plus one pump of shimmering goodness - and the result is the closest dupe I could achieve for the amazing glowy skin we’ve been seeing on Gossip Girl this season -. The BECCA shimmering perfector has been sitting in my kit for a while, so I was super excited to find a new usage for it. It’s a shimmering moisturizer that blends effortlessly on the skin and if added to the Sheer Glow gives amazing dewiness, a slightly sheerer look – better for daily use - and adds an SPF of 20, that it’s always a welcomed extra.

MAC Prep+Prime Vibrancy eye primer

This product is the magic wand I was looking for: it quickly fixes puffiness and under-eye shadows with its brightening particles, while priming the area for concealer. Finally even the creamier products don’t move into my smile lines.
The dispenser is the only downside: one pump is way too much for both eyes, and if you overdo, creasing is behind the corner.

After my Shopping my stash post, I’ve been using this eyeshadow for my everyday natural makeup: natural looking fake lashes, Crème cup lipstick and I’m good to go. It’s a very nice product, it doesn’t crease even without a base and stays put until cleansing time. So glad it’s finally getting the love that it deserves.

MAC Hug me & Crèam cup lipsticks

Last month a decided to organize my makeup drawer and I found a very nice arrangement for my lipsticks, and now that I know exactly what colors I own it’s easier to reach for long forgotten shades like Hug me. It’s a brown-ish flesh pink that pairs perfectly with sultry eye looks, quite a staple.
I got Crèam Cup with my last Back2MAC and it was love at first sight: it’s an easy to wear light blue pink, the classic color that goes with everything and every skin tone.

MAC Dipdown gel eyeliner

I always enjoy a little bit of liner to define and make the eyes pop, and since recently I’ve been playing with sultrier colors for fall, I’ve found myself reaching for this gel liner almost everyday. The best thing is that, since it’s not as harsh as black can sometimes be, it can be used in everyday eye looks for way more dramatic flicks.

MAC Pressed Amber mineralize blush

This is the perfect blush to pair to very deep smoky eyes or dark lips, when you don’t want to overdo or steal attention to other features but still need something on the cheeks. I used to reach for Warm Soul, but this shade it’s way more flattering on my fair skin – also it’s not as easy to overdo with the amount of product as it is with WS -. Unfortunately this was limited edition with the Semi-precious collection, but I’m pretty sure it can still be found somewhere on the internet.

Jemma Kidd Dewy glow All over radiance – Iced gold

This is a light-diffusing cream that can be used to create soft focus glowing skin. It’s probably the most natural looking and discrete cream highlighter I’ve ever seen. The consistency is quite unusual and hard to describe: it’s a cream texture but it feels a little like a pressed mousse, if that makes any sense, and it can be used either underneath or above foundation.

Sigma SigmaX P84 brush

I had this brush for a while now and I got the chance to use it in many different ways with different products and consistencies, and highlighter application might be my favorite use. It’s just the right size to fit the space between the eye area and the blush area and to apply product on the brow bone and cupid bow. It’s firm but still quite soft, so you can buff the product in, making it look so much more natural, since it doesn’t just sit on the skin.

Nelle ultime settimane mi sono dilettata con un po’ di sperimentazione, mischiando prodotti e fondotinta diversi, tanto per, e mi sono imbattuta in questa fantastica combinazione: un pump del mio fondotinta preferito di sempre e un pump di questa meraviglia illuminante – e il risultato è l’imitazione più vicina all’effetto pelle perfetta e luminosa, che si è vista in questa stagione di Gossip Girl, che sia riuscita ad ottenere -. Lo shimmering skin perfector di BECCA è rimasto segregato nel mio kit per un pezzo e sono felicissima di aver trovato un altro utilizzo per questo prodotto. E’ un idratante-illuminante che si sfuma senza fatica e se unito allo Sheer Glow dona una favolosa lucentezza, alleggerisce la copertura del fondotinta – che diventa più adeguato all’uso quotidiano – e aggiunge un SFP 20 che fa sempre piacere.

Questo prodotto è una vera e propria bacchetta magica: rimedia in un attimo a gonfiore e ombre sotto gli occhi grazie alle sue particelle illuminanti e nel mentre fa da primer per il correttore. Finalmente nemmeno i prodotti più cremosi si spostano nelle rughette da sorriso. Il dispenser è l’unico problema: un pump è troppo anche per entrambi gli occhi, e se si esagera si rischia di ottenere l’effetto opposto.

Dopo il mio post Shopping my stash, ho utilizzato questo ombretto in crema ogni volta che ho indossato un makeup naturale e basic: ciglia finte molto naturali, rossetto Crème Cup e sono pronta per uscire. E’ veramente un buon prodotto, non si muove nemmeno senza un primer e resta perfetto fino al momento di struccarsi. Ora si che sta ricevendo tutto l’amore e l’attenzione che merita.

MAC Hug me & Crèam cup lipsticks

Il mese scorso mi sono finalmente decisa a sistemare il cassetto del makeup ed ho trovato una carinissima ed efficiente sistemazione per i miei rossetto, così posso vedere esattamente che colori ho ed utilizzare quelli di cui mi ero completamente dimenticata, come Hug me. E’ un rosa nudo con undertones nocciola, perfetto da accoppiare agli ombretti nei colori autunnali, un colore essenziale.
Ho preso Crème Cup con il mio ultimo Back2MAC ed è stato subito amore: è un rosa con undertones blue che sta bene con tutto, il classico rosa passepartout che dona a tutte.

MAC Dipdown gel eyeliner

Utilizzo sempre un po’ di eyeliner per definire e mettere gli occhi in primo piano, e visto che di recente ho cominciato ad utilizzare colori più autunnali, mi sono ritrovata ad utilizzare il marrone molto più spesso. E il vantaggio è che, non essendo deciso come il nero, può essere utilizzato per linee più drammatiche anche nel trucco da giorno.

Questo è il blush perfetto da accoppiare a smoky eyes molto carichi o rossetti scuri, quando il resto del viso non deve competere con il makeup di primo piano, ma non si può fare a meno del blush. Prima utilizzavo Warm Soul per lo stesso scopo, ma Pressed Amber è più adatto alla mia pelle chiara – e la quantità di prodotto applicata è anche più facile controllare rispetto a WS -. Sfortunatamente era limited edition per la collezione Semi-precious, ma sono sicura che si possa ancora trovare online o in qualche corner.

Jemma Kidd Dewy glow All over radiance – Iced gold

Si tratta di un illuminante in crema che dona una luminosità delicata, che sembra trasparire attraverso il fondotinta. E’ forse l’illuminante in crema più discreto e naturale disponibile sul mercato. La consistenza è diversa dal solito e difficile da descrivere: è una crema ma al tatto sembra più che altro una mousse pressata, se riesco a spiegarmi, e può essere utilizzata sia sotto sia sopra alla base. Sigma SigmaX P84 brush

E’ da un po’ che ho questo pennello ed ho avuto la possibilità di provarlo con diversi prodotti e consistenze e per scopi differenti, e l’applicazione dell’illuminante è probabilmente il mio uso preferito. E’ della misura giusta per applicare il prodotto esattamente nello spazio tra il blush e la’rea peri-oculare, l’arcata sopraccigliare e sopra l’arco di cupido. Le setole sono solide ma morbide, quindi si può sfumare il prodotto dentro al fondotinta, per un effetto più naturale.
