Notd: Ciaté Cookies and cream

The latest addition to my ever-growing nude nail polish collection is Cookies and cream, which is also the first Ciaté polish I got to try. The name is actually quite appropriate for a light creamy nude that looks like a latte macchiato. It's almost opaque in 2 coats. Here I applied 3 to completely conceal the nail line.

The application was smooth and effortless thanks to the large flat brush and the long, lean handle that allows a perfect grip.

The packaging is a beauty itself, stark and basic, with an extra girly twist: the elastic ring with the bow is useless per se but adds that little something that makes the bottle special. Lasts well and doesn't chip easily. Overall it applies and feels like a more expensive polish.

So, first Ciaté nail polish but definitely not the last. The complexion collection looks absolutely stunning and a nice alternative to the Dior nudes. I bought mine on Beautybay that ships internationally.

L'ultimo acquisto della mia infinita collezione di smalti nude è Cookies and cream, che è tra l'altro il primo smalto Ciaté che ho l'occasione di provare. Il nome è molto appropriato per un nudo chiaro e cremoso del colore di un latte macchiato. E' quasi opaco in due passate, ma qui ho applicato 3 mani per coprire completamente la lunetta.

Il pennello piatto e denso ed il cappuccio lungo rendono l'applicazione semplicissima.

Il packaging è davvero grazioso, essenziale ma con quel certo non so che: l'elastico con fiocchetto è inutile di per sè, ma aggiunge un tocco romantico e femminile alla bottiglia, e si può togliere per cui non dà fastidio.

Non si scheggia facilmente ed in generale sembra uno smalto molto più costoso. Sono rimasta piacevolmente colpita.

Il mio primo smalto Ciaté, ma ho la sensazione che non sarà l'ultimo. In particolare la complexion collection sembra interessante ed una buona alternativa ai Nudes di Dior. Il sito UK spedisce in tutto il mondo, ma a prezzi proibitivi; io l'ho acquistato su Beautybay che spedisce gratuitamente. 

Avete qualche raccomandazione sulla prossima tonalità da provare?

LUSH wishlist

I've been working on this wishlist for a while now. I'm fairly new to LUSH - I haven't tried many things except for their soap bars and a couple of bath products -, and everytime I visit the e-shop I get overexcited and start throwing literally everything in the cart. However I think I finally managed to narrow down my wishlist to some good products.

001 Favorite LUSH soap out of the ones I tried, I can't resist to bubblegum scented products. It smells so good I even use it when I hand-wash my laudry. I've only a little piece left, need to repurchase asap.

002 Every time I visit LUSH at least one of these bubble bars ends up in my basket. I love everything about the Comforter: it's deeply moisturizing, turns the water hot pink, lathers easily and smells like berry candies. I break it into small pieces and use it also for footbaths and add the crumbles to the hot water I soak my nails in before giving myself a manicure. I strongly recommend it.

003 According to the official product description Creamy candy sounds like a must-try for a girly girl like me. And since it's suppose to smell like the Rock star soap I'm really excited to try it.

004 This new Superbalm is one of the products I'm most excited about. I suffer from very dry and itchy scalp, especially during the changing season. I use a mix of Philip Kingsley scalp mask and Schwarzkopf vials but using something I can easily find in Italy it'd be nice for a change.

005 I know lip scrubs are the easiest thing to make at home but I'm really not into beauty DIYs and if left to my own devices I'd totally neglet this beauty step out of lazyness. I just finished the chocolate scented one, but I can't wait to grab this. Again with the bubblegum scent.

006 After the Emotional brillance event one of the SA kindly gave me a spoonful of Rub rub rub to help me remove the water resistant swatches. It was gentler than I expected and left my skin extra smooth and refreshed, without the typical butter-ish, almost greasy feel that the creamy scrubs I normally use leave behind.

007 Solid shampoos are probably the weirdest products in the line and being a curious monkey I really want to try them. Seanik is supposed to be the volumising one, I think, and I'd like a little more body in my hair but maybe I'll ask for an advice in store. We'll see.

008 Again with the catchy name and product description. I don't have huge skin issues: my skin tone is a little uneven and I can experience some redness especially when the weather gets cold. Angels is supposed to help with these problems, thanks to ground almonds and lavander oil, so we'll see if it works. Overall it sounds really promising.

E' un po' che lavoro a questa wishlist. Non ho provato tantissime cose di LUSH - più che altro saponi ed un paio di spumanti -, ma ogni volta che visito il sito per un po' di fanta-shopping, finisco per riempire il carrello all'inverosimile, come un bambino in un negozio di caramelle. Comunque, credo di essere riuscita a restringere la scelta a pochi gioiellini.

001 Il mio sapone preferito tra quelli che ho già provato, non so resistere ai profumi caramellosi. Lo uso persino per lavare a mano la biancheria. Me n'è rimastao un pezzettino microscopico, devo ricomprarlo al più presto.

002 Durante tutte le mie visite in bottega almeno uno di questi spumanti è sempre finito nel mio cestino. Mi piace tutto di Flutti di bosco: è molto idratante, fa diventare l'acqua rosa intenso, fa un sacco di schiuma e profuma di caramelle ai frutti di bosco. Di solito lo rompo in più pezzettini e li uso per bagni e pediluvi, ed aggiungo le briciole all'acqua in cui metto a mollo le dita prima della manicure. Consigliatissimo.

003 Ecco, magari la descrizione inglese era un po' più carina, ma anche quella italiana non è male.  Schiuma party sembra lo spumante da provare per una come me, che va pazza per le cose 'da ragazze'. Tra l'altro si abbina a Candy candy, quindi doppio wow.

004 Il nuovo Superbalm è uno dei prodotti per cui sono più impaziente. Purtroppo ho la cute secca e pruriginosa, specialmente nei periodi di stress e durante il cambio di stagione. Ultimamente sto utilizzando una combinazione di scalp mask di Philip Kingsley e fialette Testanera che acquisto online, per cui un prodotto simile, ma soprattutto facilmente reperibile in Italia non sarebbe male.

005 Mi rendo conto che gli scrub labbra sono facilissimi da fare in casa, ma non ho la passione di Clio per i DIY e se abbandonata a me stessa finirei con saltare direttamente lo scrub per pigrizia. Ho appena finito Labbrao meravigliao, che è quello al cioccolato, e sono impaziente di provare Labbracadabra. Non resisto al profumo di cicca.

006 Alla fine dell'evento Emotional brillance una delle gentilissime ragazze mi ha aiutata a rimuovere gli swatches resistenti all'acqua dalla mano e mi ha fatto provare una cucchiaiata di Atollo13. Visto che è uno scrub a base di sale mi aspettavo un effetto più abrasivo, ma invece è molto delicato e rinfrescante. Ed ho apprezzato in modo particolare l'assenza di quella sensazione quasi burrosa che si lasciano dietro gli scrub in crema, come quelli del Body Shop, che uso di solito.

007 Gli shampoo soldi sono probabilmente il prodotto della linea che più m'incuriosisce e siccome sono una scimmietta curiosa ho propria voglia di provarli. Atlantide dovrebbe aiutare con il volume ed un po' di corpo extra farebbe bene ai miei capelli, ma forse chiederò consiglio in bottega per vedere se c'è qualcosa di più appropriato per me. Vedremo.

008 Di nuovo nome e descrizione accattivanti. Non ho grandi problemi di pelle, giusto un po' di colorito irregolare ed una tendenza agli arrossamenti soprattutto nei mesi freddi. Angeli dovrebbe aiutare con queste problematiche grazie alle mandorle ed all'olio di lavanda, quindi vedremo se funziona. Così su due piedi, sembra abbastanza promettente.

Avete provato qualcuno di questi prodotti? Avete qualche raccomandazione?

Notd: Deborah Lippmann Glitter in the air

Glitters in the air looks absolutely stunning in the bottle: mixed shaped and sized pink and blue sprinkles suspended in a milky baby blue jelly base. It reminds me of cupcake frosting and unicorns.
On the nails is very, very sheer tho. I think it'd look opaque in about 5-6 coats. Here I'm wearing two coats on top of two coats of Eyeko Pastel polish, which is basically a jelly pastel blue. I dare to say it'd go well on top of white and pastel pink as well, even nude polish if your goal is only to conceal the nail line.
Application may be a little tricky, since there's no way to tell how many glitters will stick on the nail, but you can always fish a couple of extra glitters from the neck of the bottle and press them on the nail using the brush. The formula is self-flattening, so if you move quickly it won't look streaky or uneven.

Deborah Lippmann nail polishes are definitely on the expensive side, so I'd recommend sticking to the most unusual shades, since vampy shades, pinks and nudes are easily dupable. I know there's a cheaper dupe for this shade as well - Whimsical by Revlon -, but I'm not sure if it's still available.

Overall I really like the final effect. It's sweet and dreamy. At first I wished it was more opaque, but then the glitters wouldn't show so well or look so pretty, so I guess it's worth the effort.

Glitters in the air è meraviglioso nella bottiglia: glitter blu e rosa di diverse forme e dimensioni immersi in una base gelatinosa azzurro chiaro. Mi ricorda la glassa dei cupcake e gli unicorni.
Sulle unghie è molto trasparente. Credo che ci vorrebbero 5-6 mani per ottenere una coprenza opaca. Nella foto ho applicato 2 mani di Glitters in the air sopra a due mani di Pastel di Eyeko, un semplice azzurro pastello. Immagino che starebbe bene anche applicato sopra una base bianca oppure rosa chiaro, e persino nuda se lo scopo è quello di nascondere la lunetta.
L'applicazione può diventare un po' complicata, perchè è difficile dire quanti glitter si depositeranno sull'unghia, ma si possono sempre pescare i brillantini dal collo della bottiglietta con il pennello  e picchiettarli sullo smalto ancora fresco. La formula è auto-lisciante, quindi agendo in fretta non si creano grumi o righe.

Gli smalti Deborah Lippmann sono tra i più costosi, quindi vi consiglierei di limitarvi ai colori particolari, visto che i rosa, i rossi e i nudi si possono trovare facilmente di marchi più convenienti. So che esiste un dupe più economico di questo smalto - Whimsical di Revlon -, ma non sono sicura che sia ancora disponibile. Questo l'ho comprato su Beautybay approfittando di uno sconto.

Il risultato finale mi piace. E' dolce ed incantevole. All'inizio ho sperato fosse più coprente, ma se così fosse i glitter non si vedrebbero così chiaramente e non sarebbero così belli, quindi credo ne valga la pena.

001 I've been stalking my trusty seller, waiting for the limited edition Fall shades to be available for purchase. The basic line is pretty amazing already even if there're a couple of misses - I own Bold gold and Tough as taupe, and I love them - but the Scene on the runway quartet looks absolutely stunning, especially the moss green.

002 The sentence 'best lip balm I've ever tried' seems to pop out quite often lately and almost everytime is connected to a Sugar lip treatment. I'll be definitely keeping an eye on this line.

003 For a foundation fiend like yours truly here, this dry oil-based foundation/complexion perfection product sounds like something made in Hogwarts. If you want to know more about the science facts behind this foundation you can check the really in-depth review on Beautezine. I really look forward to get a sample of this.

004 I'm a sucker for Try me kits and I just found out Sephora sells one which includes a deluxe 15ml sample of the new YSL serum and mini face and eye moisturizers. You know how much I love the Estee Lauder Advanced night repair but I'm always looking for a good contender: I don't want my skin to get used to it and alternation is the key here, but so far nothing got even close to it.

005 Actually I've been drooling all over the whole Germany collection: vampy shades and navy blue aside, all the polishes got me squealing. Anyways if I could only pick one it'd be Don't talk Bach at me, a wasabi green with subtle shimmer. Such an unusual shade for Fall, it really stands out.

006 This is the foundation everyone in the blogosphere has been talking about for the last months. It's such an hyped out product I want to try it just to see what all the fuss is about.

001 E' un po' che tengo d'occhio il mio rivenditore di fiducia e attendo che i colori in edizione limitata per l'autunno siano disponibili per l'acquisto. La linea base, nonostante un paio di scivoloni, è favolosa - io possiedo Bold gold e Tough as taupe, e li adoro - ma il quartetto della collezione Scene on the runway sembra stupendo, il verde muschio in particolare.

002 Ultimamente la frase 'il miglior lip balm che abbia mai provato' è saltata fuori molto spesso nei blog internazionali che seguo e quasi sempre associata a questo trattamento a base di zucchero della Fresh. Decisamente da tenere d'occhio.

003 Per una fanatica di fondotinta come la sottoscritta, questa base composta di pigmenti sospesi in una miscela di oli secchi sembra provenire direttamente dai sotterranei di Hogwarts. Se volete informazioni più dettagliate circa la composizione di questo fondotinta/sublimatore dell'incarnato potete leggere l'approfondita recensione di Beautezine. Sono ansiosa di farmi fare un campioncino.

004 Non so resistere ai kit prova ed ho appena scoperto che da Sephora è disponibile un set che contiene una mini taglia da 15ml del nuovo siero YSL e due sample della crema occhi e viso. Credo sappiate quanto ami l'Advanced night repair di Estee Lauder ma sono sempre alla ricerca di un prodotto competitivo: non voglio che la mia pelle si abitui al siero ed alternare composizioni diverse è la chiave in questo caso, ma per ora non ho trovato nulla che fosse allo stesso livello del Night repair.

005 In realtà mi sono innamorata dell'intera collezione Germany: a parte il blu e gli smalti vampy, tutti i colori mi hanno fatto emettere gridolini d'eccitazione. Comunque se dovessi scegliere solo uno smalto sarebbe Don't talk Bach at me, un verde wasabi con una leggera iridescenza. E' un colore così particolare per l'autunno, salta veramente all'occhio.

006 Il fondotinta di cui tutti nella blogosfera parlano da mesi. Dopo tanta pubblicità martellante devo proprio provarlo per cercare di capire se la fama è realmente meritata.

Voi avete messo gli occhi su qualcosa in particolare?

Notd: Chanel Coco blue

When it was first released for the 2011 VFNO I didn't run to stand in line for hours to buy it. I thought it wasn't really anything special, definitely not worth the excruciating wait in line; besides I went through a pretty bad sky blue nail polish phase back in 7th grade and somehow it didn't feel right to retrace my steps without an inflexible nun ready to get mad at me. Then Coco blue made it to the permanent line and I had the chance to take a good look at it in store.

It's a stunning medium sky blue with a very subtle shimmer. I find it extremely flattering on my skin tone and surprisingly easy to wear: light blue nail polish is not suppose to look elegant - fun and fresh, sure; but chic? - but somehow Chanel succeded. I read some of last year reviews and I think the brand reformulated it before the spring re-release because I don't find it absolutely streaky or lacking in pigmentation. It may pull a little if you don't let the polish dry before applying a second layer - most polishes do, to be honest - but I didn't have any issue with the formula whatsoever.

On me it lasted for 7 days. I had to remove it simply because the nail growth was showing. And it looks so good painted on toes too. I adore it.

I think this is hands down one of the best shades in the permanent range and if you feel like indulging in a unique Chanel nail polish, I say go for Coco blue because it's seriously amazing.

Quando è comparso per la prima volta in occasione della VFNO del 2011 non sono corsa a mettermi in fila davanti al negozio. Non sembrava niente di eccezionale, decisamente non abbastanza da fare una fila interminabile; tra l'altro ho avuto la mia fase 'smalto azzurro cielo' alle medie e, senza una suora da indispettire, l'idea di ripercorrere i vecchi tempi non sembrava tanto allettante. Poi questa primavera Coco blue è entrato nella linea permanente ed ho potuto dargli un'occhiata da vicino in negozio.

Si tratta di un favoloso azzurro cielo con un'iridescenza quasi impercepibile. Mi sembra che doni molto al mio incarnato e lo trovo sorprendentemente versatile ed indossabile: lo smalto azzurro non dovrebbe essere elegante - fresco e divertente di sicuro, ma chic? - ma Chanel in qualche modo ci è riuscita. Rileggevo alcune delle prime review dell'anno scorso e mi è venuto il dubbio che la formula sia stata modificata prima del nuovo esordio in primavera, perchè non mi sembra che manchi di pigmentazione o che l'applicazione sia irregolare. Certo, se non si lascia asciugare il primo strato prima di passare al successivo può segnarsi nel punto in cui si appoggia il pennello - onestamente succede con quasi tutti gli smalti - ma non ho avuto nessun problema di applicazione.

Di solito resiste molto bene, 7 giorni in questo caso. Ho dovuto toglierlo solo perchè la ricrescita dell'unghia era piuttosto evidente. Ed è delizioso anche sui piedi. Lo adoro.

Credo sia senza dubbio uno dei colori migliori della linea permanente e nel caso voleste regalarvi uno smalto Chanel diverso dal solito, vi consiglio Coco blue perchè è davvero straordinario.

MAC Pressed pigment in Light touch W10 review & swatches

Out of the crazy bunch of collections being released in September, the MAC Face&Body one was the most interesting for me, because of the professional looking products: it comes with a new size of my beloved F&B foundation, 2 quite original brushes created specifically to apply contour and highlighting products and a brand new line of Sculpting creams and pressed pigments.

The latter especially caught my eyes as soon as the press infos started popping out in the blogosphere: 6 skin tone shades, from W10 to NW55 to be used as an highligher with frosty finish with an almost wet look. And indeed I was expecting a creamy powder with a frosty finish.

I wasn't prepared for tons of chunky silver glitters mixed with a neutral base. Disco ball effect granted. As highlighter is definitely a no-go. I tried it as eyeshadow as well but the result was equally messy.

 

Sad thing is this guy here – Light touch, the lightest of the line - looks so pretty when swatched on the back of the hand with an almost-wet effect, but once applied with a flat brush it's a glitter galore. Application with a fluffy brush causes major fall outs while foiling - application with a wet brush - makes it extra metallic and not so good for a day look, but at least makes it some kind of wearable - until of course the product dries -.

 

I wore it today as an all over wash with a soft matte brown in the crease for definition and I loved it, until the fall out nightmare started. I had to remove the pigment after 3-4 hours because the glitters were making my eyes itchy and as a contact wearer I didn't want to push my luck too much. I'm used to wear MAC reflects glitter dabbed over my eyeshadow but I never experienced this level of fall outs and annoyance: I mean I'm sitting here writing the review and I can see I have glitters all over my chest and hands.

So far, not so good. I bet this would look so good in picture - I bought it to use on my brides in first place - but untill I can find a way to make it comfortable to wear I'm not sure I'll get many uses out of this pigment. I'm so disappointed.

MAC Pressed pigments are available now online and in store and retail for 25$/£16.50 /€22.50. I say skip these unless you're planning a crazy Halloween look.

Tra tutte le collezioni MAC in uscita a Settembre, la Face and body mi è sembrata la più interessante, per via dei prodotti più particolari e dall’uso professionale: è composta infatti da una nuova taglia del mio beneamato fondotinta F&B, 2 pennelli dal taglio originale pensati apposta per definire i volumi del viso, ed una nuova linea di creme illuminanti e per il contouring e pigmenti pressati.

Questi ultimi sono quelli che hanno catturato la mia attenzione fin dalla prima immagine stampa comparsa nella blogosfera: 6 pigmenti pressati nei colori della pelle, da W10 a NW55, da utilizzare come illuminanti con un finish luminoso intenso. Ed è questo che mi aspettavo, una polvere cremosa con lo stesso finish frosty degli ombretti. Non ero invece preparata ad una tonnellata di glitter argentati, lievemente più grandi dei Reflects, mescolati ad una base neutra. Effetto palla da discoteca assicurato. Come illuminante è improponibile. L’ho provato anche come ombretto, ma il risultato è stato ugualmente deludente.

E’ un vero peccato, perchè Light touch - la tonalità più chiara disponibile – è bellissimo swatchato sul dorso della mano, con questo effetto quasi bagnato, ma se applicato con un pennello piatto è un delirio di brillantini. L’applicazione con un pennello vaporoso causa la caduta di tantissimi glitter sulle guance, mentre il foiling – applicazione con pennello bagnato – rende il pigmento ancora più metallico e non molto appropriato al look da giorno, ma per lo meno utilizzabile – certo, poi appena il tutto si asciuga siamo al punto di partenza -.

L’ho indossato proprio ‘stamattina su tutta la palpebra mobile con un marrone medio nella piega per dare definizione e l’effetto mi è piaciuto, fino a che l’incubo fall out non è iniziato. Ho dovuto togliere tutto dopo 3-4 ore perché i glitter mi facevano prudere gli occhi e visto che porto le lenti a contatto non volevo sfidare la fortuna più di tanto. Applico spesso i MAC reflects sopra all’ombretto, per cui non sono nuova all’uso dei glitter, ma non ho mai assistito ad una tale ecatombe: per dire, mentre scrivevo la review mi sono accorta di avere brillantini perfino nella scollatura.

Per quello che ho visto fin’ora, pollice verso. Scommetto che questi pigmenti renderebbero magnificamente in foto – l’idea iniziale infatti era quella di usarli sulle mie spose - ma al momento mi sembrano inutilizzabili. Sono veramente delusa.

I pigmenti pressati sono disponibili ora nei negozi ed online e costano 22.50€. Io direi di saltarli a piè pari a meno che non abbiate in mente un look anni '80 per Halloween.

001 The NARS Andy Warhol collection was a miss but the two addition to the 413BLKR collection in celebration of the 2012 Fashion night out look absolutely stunning. I never tried a Velvet matte lip pencil but I hear so many good things about them I thought maybe it's finally time for me to cave and buy one, and what better than a gorgeous bright pink to begin?

002 The shimmering amethyst side looks soooo pretty and I like a duo that can be used to create a full look with no need for anything else. I'll sit tight waiting for some reviews and swatches but right now I'm very tempted.

003 When I first heard about a liquid liner with 3 points I thought it was going to be the most rubbish thing, but when I understood the idea behind the product I was charmed. Basically you can use it to draw a line of tiny dots along the lash line to create the illusion of thicker lashes or you can use it as a regular liner to create original designs, like a triple wing that will give the illusion of long luscious lashes. I'm seriously fashinated.

004 I don't think I really need an excuse to buy a pretty makeup bag. I just want it. And this is one of my favorite Cath Kidston patterns, it's practically calling my name.

Not so much lusting this week but some good, very promising products and since I didn't purchase all the MAC goods I thought I needed when the press material came out at first, I may actually indulge in all of them.

001 La collezione NARS con Andy Warhol è stata una completa delusione, ma i due prodotti aggiunti alla collezione 413BLKR per celebrare la Fashion night out di quest’anno sono stupendi. Non ho mai provato le matite Velvet matte, ma ne sento parlare così bene che forse è giunto il momento di piegarmi al volere della beauty community e provarne una. E cosa c’è di meglio di un rosa brillante per iniziare?

002 L’ombretto color ametista sembra magnifico ed in più mi piacciono molto questi duo autosufficienti, che ti permettono di creare un look completo senza bisogno di altri prodotti. Aspetterò con pazienza le review e gli swatches ma sono super tentata.

003 La prima volta che ho sentito dell’uscita di un eyeliner a 3 punte ho fatto una faccia da ma per favore! ma quando ho capito quale fosse l’idea di base mi sono incuriosita. In pratica si può utilizzare per disegnare una serie di minuscoli puntini lungo la linea delle ciglia per creare l’illusione di ciglia più folte, oppure lo si può usare come un eyeliner normale per design originali, come un cat-eye a tre code per dare l’impressione di ciglia lunghissime. Mi dicono che sarà disponibile entro la fine del mese e non vedo l’ora di provarlo.

004 Non credo ci sia bisogno di un motivo per comprare una pochette portatrucco graziosa come questa. La voglio! Tra l’altro questa è uno delle mie fantasie Cath Kidston preferite, è come se avesse il mio nome scritto sopra.

Non una lista dei desideri esagerata questa settimana, ma giusto un paio di prodotti molto promettenti; in più, visto che non ho acquistato tutto quello che avevo messo in conto appena erano uscite le info per la stampa delle collezioni MAC in uscita questo mese, potrei esagerare e prendere tutto questa volta.

The sample diaries: Lily Lolo Mineral foundation spf15 review

Lily Lolo is a fairly new brand for me. I first stumbled on it while I was browsing the brand list on Feelunique and the catching name tickled my interest. After some research I found out that it’s been around for about 4 years and has now a solid reputation as high quality but still affordable mineral makeup brand in the UK. Leading product of their line is their mineral foundation and I now understand why.

My first impression was of a high quality foundation which performs like more expensive ones. The application is smooth and effortless, the coverage easily buildable to medium, depending on what brush you do use. Minor imperfections and redness are corrected but the skin texture still shows through for a natural look. The demi-matte finish reminds me a lot of the MAC Mineralize foundation loose but with better lasting power: it lasted 10-11 hours with no oil breaking through in spite of the unforgiving summer weather and the high temperatures. The use of a primer underneath didn’t make any visible difference, if not allowing a slightly smoother application on my normal to dry skin.

The best thing is this foundation comes in 18 shades, with pink, yellow and peach undertones. I’m N10 and Chinadoll, second to lightest shade described as pale, neutral with balanced undertones, is the perfect match, and that’s extraordinary per se considering how often my skin tone gets neglected. The color selection is wonderful and the website offers true to color pictures and neat, accurate descriptions to make the color selection as easy as you can get with online shopping.
If you’re one of those who can guess the right shade at first glance, you can order a full size 10g jar for £12.49, a fairly good price for a cruelty-free, vegan, 100% natural mineral foundation. Or if you’re feeling less brave you can order a couple of .75g sample jars for £1.29 each and get up to 10 uses. And if lazy is you middle name, Lily Lolo offers the Ready Set Glow sample set that comes in light, light medium and medium, with 3 foundation samples within the same color range but with different undertones, a silk finishing powder sample jar and the cutest mini kabuki brush, all for £11.99.

Overall I’m extremely happy with my Lily Lolo shopping experience and with the products I purchased. I won’t buy the full size foundation quite yet, since I’ve got way too many opened bottles and jars to finish first – see how I’m trying to be responsible here? –, but this mineral goodness goes straight in the forget-me-not product list.

Lily Lolo è una scoperta recente. L’ho incontrato per la prima volta mentre curiosavo nella lista di brand disponibili su Feelunique ed il nome particolare mi ha incuriosita. Dopo qualche ricerca ho scoperto che è sul mercato da più o meno 4 anni e che si è fatto la reputazione di marchio di qualità ma comunque accessibile, di makeup minerale in Gran Bretagna. Il prodotto leader della linea è il fondotinta in polvere libera e posso dire di capirne la ragione. 

La prima impressione che ho avuto è quella di un fondotinta di qualità con le performance di prodotti più costosi. L’applicazione è semplice e con il pennello giusto si può arrivare facilmente ad una coprenza media. Piccole imperfezioni e rossore si coprono perfettamente, ma la texture della pelle è ancora visibile per un effetto naturale. Il finish quasi opaco mi ricorda il Mineralizefoundation loose di MAC ma con una durata maggiore: è durato 10-11 ore senza la comparsa di lucidità, nonostante il caldo estivo che non perdona. L’uso del primer non fa molta differenza se non nell’applicazione lievemente facilitata sulla mia pelle, da normale a secca in questo periodo.

La caratteristica che più apprezzo è la gamma di colori formata da 18 tonalità, con sottotoni gialli, rosa e pesca. Io sono N10 e Chinadoll, la seconda colorazione più chiara descritta sul sito come pallido e neutro, con sottotoni bilanciati, è il colore perfetto per me, un miracolo di per sé considerando quanti marchi si dimentichino delle carnagioni chiare come la mia. La gamma è strepitosa ed il sito offre foto realistiche e descrizioni accurate per rendere l’acquisto il più semplice possibile.
Se siete tra quelli che riescono ad indovinare la propria colorazione a prima vista, potete ordinare la giara full size da 10g al costo di €16 circa, un prezzo più che buono per un fondotinta creulty free, vegano e naturale al 100%. Se invece non vi sentite coraggiose, potete acquistare un paio di sample da .75g per €1.60 circa l’uno e testare ciascun fondotinta per circa 10 usi.
E se siete pigrissime e non avete voglia di scegliere i sample, è disponibile il set Ready Set Glow in 3 tonalità, che contiene 3 fondotinta della stessa gamma cromatica ma con sottotoni differenti, un campioncino della polvere fissante e d un carinissimo mini pennello kabuki, al costo di €15 circa. 

Concludendo, sono molto soddisfatta della mia prima esperienza con Lily Lolo e dei prodotti che ho acquistato. Non comprerò il fondotinta full size per il momento, semplicemente perché ho già un sacco di bottiglie e giare iniziate da finire e ci sono altre basi che vorrei testare prima – visto come sono responsabile? – però va senz’altro ad aggiungersi alla lista dei prodotti non-ti-scordar-di-me.
