After trying a couple of foundations for review purposes my skin broke out and I had to go back to something actually healthy for my skin to try and fix the mess. This quickly became one of my favorite foundations, both for the perfect match with my skin tone – 51 vanilla for NC10 – and the natural, skin-like finish, that feels so comfortable, especially when the weather freaks out like happened in this past weeks.

Same here. I tried to let my skin breath and heal in peace and not to wear makeup unless strictly necessary, but since I refuse to even pick up the mail without anything on my face – you never know who you’re going to meet after all - , I slapped this on every time I had to run some errands, or used it to set the Bourjois foundation when I had to stay out longer.

I hope you had the chance to grab this limited edition blush before it sold out, because it absolutely lovely. It goes with pretty much every eye look and the satin finish looks extremely natural, making it the perfect choice for spring.
Dr. Lipp nipple balm for lipsA dry winter combined with the heat from the radiators completely destroyed my lips: they’ve been looking fire truck red and chapped since December, but I haven’t been able to find anything that worked until I stumbled on this. Originally it was meant to relieve the dry, painful nipples associated with breastfeeding, but as often happens a brilliant makeup artist started using it for dry lips and it really works a charm.
MAC Tinted lip balm spf
I couldn’t put lipsticks over damaged lips – I’d only have enhanced the dry spots – so I’ve been reaching for my tinted lip balms a lot. They’re glossy and pigmented enough to be a good compromise. This one in particular is Fuchsia fix from the Dsquared collaboration with MAC, a pretty bright pink.
My new holy grail hand moisturizer. I’ve been applying it many times a day just to be surrounded by the incredible scent and my hands have never been so smooth and silky.
MAC Mineralize charged water moisture eye creamApart for a couple of exceptions, I’m not really a fan of MAC skincare products but this is hands down the best eye cream I ever tried. It’s all I wanted Clinique All about eyes to be: it hydrates deeply, helps with puffiness, brightens and erases all those annoying fine lines due to dryness. And it’s obviously a lovely base for makeup. A win-win product. I really hope it’ll make it to the permanent line or I’ll have to stock up a thousand jars.
Crown C427 tapered duo fiber blush brushAs usual I rarely use a brush for the purposes it was created for, and this is no exception. The C427 is actually one of the best foundation brushes on the market and the little price makes it stand out even more. Gives a beautiful air-brushed finish, especially when used with very thin liquids formulas, like the healthy mix one.
Sigma P86 Precision tapered brushThe perfect brush to apply concealer and correctors in the under eye area and blend at the same time and to conceal hard-to-reach areas like around the nose and the lips outline. It does exactly the job that your fingers would do, but without makeup contamination and dirty hands involved.

Dopo aver testato un paio di fondotinta a scopo di recensione, mi sono ritrovata con un’eruzione tremenda e sono corsa ai ripari ricorrendo a prodotti più sani e nutrienti per rimediare al disastro. Questo fondotinta è diventato rapidamente uno dei miei preferiti, sia perché è un match perfetto per il mio colorito – 51 vanilla for NC10 – sia per il finish naturale, come pelle, così leggero e confortevole, soprattutto quando il tempo dà di matto come nelle scorse settimane.

Idem come sopra. Ho cercato di lasciar respirare la pelle così che guarisse in pace, e di non indossare makeup a meno che non strettamente necessario, ma visto che mi rifiuto anche solo di scendere a ritirare la posta a viso scoperto – dopotutto, non si sa mai chi si incontrerà -, ho applicato questo fondotinta per le commissioni veloci e l’ho utilizzato per fissare l’Healthy mix per le uscite più lunghe.

Spero che abbiate avuto la possibilità di acquistare questo blush in edizione limitata prima che andasse esaurito, perchè è favoloso. Si abbina a praticamente ogni trucco occhi e il finish satinato è estremamente naturale, rendendolo la scelta perfetta per il makeup primaverile.

La combinazione di un inverno secco e il calore dei caloriferi mi hanno completamente distrutto le labbra: è da dicembre che sono infiammate e secche all’inverosimile, ma non sono riuscita a trovare un rimedio efficace fino a che non ho scoperto questo prodotto. In origine era utilizzato come rimedio per le ragadi dovute all’allattamento, ma come spesso succede un makeup artist visionario ha iniziato ad utilizzarlo sulle labbra e da allora è stato un successo.
MAC Tinted lip balm spf
Non potendo applicare rossetti e gloss sulle labra infiammate – non avrei fatto altro che mettere in evidenza le pellicine ed irritare ulteriormnete la pelle – sono ricorsa più volte agli amati balsami colorati. Sono abbastanza lucidi e pigmentati, e quindi un buon compromesso. Questo in particolare è Fuchsia fix della collezione Dsquared per MAC, un grazioso rosa acceso con base blu.

Il santo graal delle creme mani. La applico in continuazione per godere del profumo irresistibile e le mie mani non sono mai state più morbide e vellutate.
MAC Mineralize charged water moisture eye cream
A parte un paio di eccezioni, non sono una fan della linea per la cura della pelle di MAC, ma questo piccolino vince a mani basse il titolo di miglior crema contorno occhi. E’ tutto ciò che l’All about eyess di Clinique avrebbe dovuto essere: idrata in profondità, rimedia al gonfiore, illumina e combatte le occhiaie e cancella le odiose rughette dovute a secchezza. Ed ovviamnete è una perfretta base per il trucco. Voti altissimi su tutti i fronti. Spero vivamente che entri a far parte della linea permanente, altrimenti dovrò farne scorta ed acquistare un milione di barattoli.
Crown C427 tapered duo fiber blush brush
Come al solito, è raro che mi attenga all’uso consigliato di un pennello, e questo non è un eccezione. Il C427 è infatti uno dei migliori pennelli per fondotinta sul mercato, ed il prezzo contenuto lo rende ancora più allettante. Consente di creare un bellissimo effetto air-brushed, soprattutto se utilizzato con texture molto liquide come l’Healthy mix.
Sigma P86 Precision tapered brush
Il pennello perfetto per applicare il correttore nella zona degli occhi e sfumarlo allo stesso tempo, e per raggiungere punti diffcili come l’area intorno alle narici e lavorare con precisione nul contorno labbra. Il risultato è lo stesso che si otterrebbe picchiettando il prodotto con le dita, ma senza contaminazione del prodotto o pasticci.
