MAC Subtle breeze & Early morning Mineralize blushes review

There’s always that one product that stands out in a collection, the one that no one should ever miss, but in the Naturally collection case there are three – Subtle breeze, Fresh honey and Early morning -, the three mineralize blushes.

Subtle breeze is a blue based pink with cool undertones, while Early morning is a medium pinkish coral with some red in it.
The initial plan, heading for the store, was to buy Fresh honey, the third blush form this collection. It looked amazing in the online swatches – and it’s beautiful indeed: a warm yellow based apricot – but unfortunately in real life it looked way to orange on my pale skin. I think it’d look gorgeous on darker skin tones but it stood out too much on me.

The finish is what makes them so different from the other mineralize blushes. Usually ‘mineralize’ translates with ‘glittery, or ‘frosty’ when it comes to the MSFs, but these blushes have the most charming satin glowy finish, the kind that doesn’t lie on the skin but comes from within. The powder is silky and finely mild and blends smoothly without effort.

They’re both easy to work in but being quite pigmented I apply with a big duo fibre brush, like the MAC 188, that helps to avoid any waste of product catching just the right amount of powder without fall-outs. If you want to use something smaller and more compact be sure to knock-off all the excess before applying. You barely need to touch the pan with the brush and since they diffuse so effortlessly they result rather user-friendly.

MAC Early morning

They last 6-8 hours, then I start to notice a slight fading that is always soft and natural and never looks patchy.

The packaging is the usual one, black and sleek, but the amount of product you get is different: basic blushes contain 6g/0.21 oz, while the permanent mineralize blushes hold 3.5g/0.11 oz despite being more expensive. And as it often happens with limited edition mineralize blushes, with these you get even a little less, 3.2g/0.10 oz.

In the end, they’re amazing blushes, long lasting and with a beautiful texture. They might be a little expensive but in my opinion they’re absolutely worth the splurge.

We can only hope MAC will drop the old chunky glittery texture for good and hold on to this little wonder.

C’è sempre quel prodotto che spicca in una collezione, quello che non ci si deve assolutamente lasciar scappare, ma nel caso della collezione Naturally i prodotti sono 3 - Subtle breeze, Fresh honey and Early morning -, i 3 mineralize blushes.

Subtle breeze è un rosa caramella a base blu con sottotoni freddi, mentre Early morning è un corallo medio-scuro a base rosata e con una punta di rosso.
Il piano iniziale prevedeva l’acquisto di Fresh honey, il terzo blush della collezione. Sembrava stupendo a giudicare dagli swatches che avevo visto online – ed è effettivamente bellissimo: un albicocca caldo con base gialla – ma sfortunatamente dal vivo sembrava troppo arancione sulla mia pelle chiara. Credo che sarebbe delizioso su incarnati più scuri ma su di me spiccava troppo e in un modo poco naturale.

Il finish è ciò che rende questi blush così straordinari e diversi dai soliti prodotti minerali. Di solito ‘mineralize’ si traduce in ‘pieno di glitter’ o comunque ‘frosty’ nel caso degli MSFs, ma questi blush hanno un finish satinato e luminoso, con il genere di luminosità che viene da dentro e sembra molto naturale. La polvere è setosa e finissima, e si sfuma senza fatica.

Sono entrambi molto semplici da usare, ma vista la pigmentazione preferisco ricorrere ad un pennello a fibra doppia, come il MAC 188, che aiuta ad evitare sprechi di prodotto catturando solo la giusta quantità di prodotto senza muovere troppa polvere. Se volete utilizzare un pennello più compatto, ricordatevi di eliminare l’eccesso dalle setole prima di applicare. Basta appena sfiorare la cialda con il pennello e visto che si sfumano senza fatica sono adatti anche a chi non è abituato a truccarsi.

Durano 6-8 ore, dopo di che si nota una leggera dissolvenza che però è sempre naturale e graduale e mai a macchie.

Il packaging è il solito, nero ed essenziale, ma la quantità di prodotto è differente: i blush normali contengono 6g/0.21 oz, mentre i blush minerali permanenti contengono 3.5g/0.11 oz nonostante un costo maggiore. E come spesso succede con i mineralize blush in edizione limitata, la quantità è ulteriormente ridotta, 3.2g/0.10 oz.

In conclusione, sono favolosi, durano abbastanza a lungo ed hanno una texture stupenda. Potrebbero sembrare un po’ costosi, ma ritengo che valgano la spesa.
Non ci resta che sperare che MAC abbandoni la vecchia formulazione una volta per tutte e produca questa meraviglia in altre tonalità.
